Cookery Classes at the Pilgrim
The Pilgrim is pleased to launch it's new Cookery Classes for 2013, aimed at those of us who aren't quite sure if we are doing it the way that award winning chefs would! Head Chef Deepak will be showing how to make Indian food just like his mother taught him, Michelin Chef Brent will be creating some superb breads and between them they will be cooking up a storm of great puddings.
These courses are ideal as a present for a loved one or just as a gift to yourself. There will be no more than 4 students per class and they will take place between 2.30pm and 5pm in the Hotel kitchen. Content will vary each week and will build towards a rounded knowledge by the end of 3 weeks!

Prime Minister Drops In
We had a surprise visitor yesterday when David Cameron and his entourage stopped off for a coffee during a visit to Herefordshire. Restaurant diners looked on in amazement as the Prime Minister enjoyed a coffee whilst catching up with his aides prior to visiting the Rotherwas Trading Estate. The group stayed for about 45 minutes and enjoyed some home made shortbread biscuits with their hot drinks. Before leaving the PM shook hands with Hotel owner Steve Boyle and thanked the staff for their kindness and for looking after his team so well.

Star Chef at the Pilgrim
The Restaurant is delighted to announce that renowned chef, Brent Castle, has joined the kitchen brigade as assistant to Deepak. Brent has won some amazing awards in recent years, including the prestigious "Bib Gourmand" from Michelin, an Egon Ronay Star and Les Routiers Dining Pub of the year. He has worked in Padstow with Rick Stein and will be working closely with the team to create some fantastic menus in the weeks to come.

The Pilgrim Super Hero
Well done to Richard, our Bar Manager who has raised over £400 by running a charity half marathon. As if it wasn't going to be hard enough anyway, he chose to wear a "Banaman" outfit to give himself a bit of colour. A local hospice was greatly pleased to receive the cash and we are very proud of our "Super Hero"
